Study in Rome

Rome is Italy's capital and home to Sapienza, one of the largest universities in Europe — studying here means genuinely being at the centre of the country's political, cultural, and historical life, with world-class museums, ancient ruins, and a huge student population woven through the whole city.

Our deepest, most detailed on-the-ground support — the specific rent ranges, neighbourhood-by-neighbourhood guidance, and vetted rooms we can offer in Turin and Milan — doesn't extend to Rome to the same depth yet. We're upfront about that rather than padding this page with numbers we haven't actually verified here.

What you do get is the same guided process everywhere else: help choosing and applying to your course, Universitaly pre-enrolment, visa and document legalisation, and a first-week and settling-in checklist for the city, plus general guidance on rental conventions and what a reasonable Roman market rate looks like once you're actively looking. Rome's public transport (ATAC buses, trams, and metro) is extensive, if not always as fast as the compact networks in Turin or Milan, and the cost of living is generally lower than Milan's.

Rome is also a genuinely large, spread-out city, so where you end up living relative to Sapienza's campus matters more here than in a smaller city — neighbourhoods close to the university's main site tend to have a heavier student presence, while the historic centre (beautiful, but further from campus and generally pricier) suits students who don't mind a longer commute for the location. We talk this through with you rather than defaulting to a generic recommendation.
