Study in Genoa

Genoa is home to the University of Genoa, a large, comprehensive public university with roots going back to 1481, covering the full range of subjects from engineering and medicine to law and the humanities. It's Italy's largest port city, with a dense, atmospheric historic centre — one of Europe's biggest medieval old towns — set against steep hills running straight down to the Mediterranean.

As with our shorter-form cities, our deepest, most detailed on-the-ground support currently stays in Turin and Milan — we don't yet have the same neighbourhood-by-neighbourhood rent data or a vetted-rooms network here, and we'd rather say so plainly than pad this page with figures we haven't checked.

Its geography — a narrow strip of city wedged between hills and sea — makes it a compact place to settle into once you know it, with the university's various faculties spread across the centre and a coastline that's a short walk from most of it.
