Study in Florence

Florence is home to the University of Florence, a large comprehensive public university tracing its roots to 1321, set inside a city that's itself a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of the Renaissance. Studying here means genuinely being surrounded by that history day to day, alongside a large international and Erasmus student population.

As with Rome, Bologna and Padua, our deepest, most detailed on-the-ground support currently stays in Turin and Milan — we don't yet have the same neighbourhood-by-neighbourhood rent data or a vetted-rooms network here, and we'd rather say so plainly than pad this page with figures we haven't checked.

Florence's tourist popularity pushes rents up in the historic centre specifically, so neighbourhoods a short walk or tram ride out tend to be the more realistic student option.

Florence's compact centre and extensive tram/bus network make it easy to get around without a car, and its size sits between Padua's small-town feel and the scale of Rome or Milan — a strong, historic university experience without the sprawl of Italy's largest cities.
